MLM businesses: Should You Create Lists for Marketing Campaigns?

Email marketing is the foundation of Internet marketing. Many online and offline business owners are reluctant to use email marketing. They believe all email marketing campaigns are purely scams. This is not true. Lack of email marketing, whether Online or Offline, will cause your business to lose out on 80% of the potential buyers. This is a proven fact.

By not using email to follow up with potential customers, your business will lose sales to competitors who are using email marketing campaigns to reach customers. The problem is 80% of all sales occur between the 5th and 12th time you present a potential customer with information. Again, here are some hard facts: 48% of sale people never follow up. 25% make one phone follow up call and stop. 12% make two phone calls and stop. Only 10% make more than three follow up phone calls. Research shows that 80% of all sales occur between the 5th and 12th contact. Now you can see why 80% of your business is lost.

Email marketing is the most effective follow up tool. The first step of email marketing is to create an email distribution list. We achieve this by trading the potential client something of value that we know the potential client wants. Examples are free reports, limited time information, 2 for 1 specials, coupons, etc. Every business is different and can only be determined by asking the potential client. We have found that surveys are an efficient method.

Once you have created a value proposition and have started to build a list of interested customers or potential buyers you can start sending solution oriented emails or create a members only e-newsletter full of valuable information for distribution to the members of your exclusive members list.

Successful emails contain valuable information that the reader may use to move ahead with a project or overcome a problem. When the information is valued by the reader then and only then can you persuade them to try your products and services. The more valuable the information you give away, the more your potential client will start to trust that you are an expert in your field and not a scammer or looking for a quick buck.

Now that we have started to create a trust relationship, you can start to include useful links to your website or other sites that provide solutions to a common problem or that may provide automation for a redundant business process. This is also where we can include products or services that pay us money.

The secret to effective emails is to keep them short. One or Two paragraphs. Your content should also contain language that urges the reader to take a specific action such as click this link to get more information.
